After seeing a lot of hype for this book I decided to leave it a couple of months before I tried it. I was really pleasantly surprised after being disappointed with Cloud Atlas, Curious Incident etc. It was a sentimental but enjoyable read - not too many hearts and flowers - and quite thought provoking. I'm not sure if I could cope with a husband that disappeared in thin air! Possibly not so good for a Book Group read though.
I was so amazed by this author's ability to bring Henry and Clare so vividly to life. An original and touching story which had me laughing and crying with alarming regularity. The only bad thing about this book is that it ends. If anyone sees Henry, give him my number.
I bought this book the day it came into store. It didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed this book, the way it was written kept me hooked. Even the few moments of slowness I needed to know more. It was a holiday read and I can honestly say I spent more time with my head in the book than exploring the country I was in. Be prepared to want nights in.
I had avoided reading this
because I thought I would
hate it. Couldn't have been more wrong. Beautifully written.
If you are not in tears by the
end you are a stone!!
