Crime novelist to reveal writing secrets

An award winning crime writer is to appear at a series of venues in May to talk to fans.

John Connolly will attend events on May 15th at Borders in Oxford Street, London and on May 23rd at Scarborough library.

The talks have been arranged to coincide with the 2008 National Year of Reading and the release of Connolly's new book the Reaper which is out next month.

The novelist has penned the successful Charlie Parker crime novels the first of which won the Shamus Award in 2000 for the best private eye novel of the year.

He has currently written seven books in the Charlie Parker series and has an eighth planned for 2009.

Connolly will talk at the events about the secrets of his success and will be available to sign books.

The National Year of Reading is a government backed initiative that aims to increase the appeal of reading to the population as a whole.
