SJP: I'm no agony aunt

Sarah Jessica Parker has said that playing Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City has not equipped her with the ability to dish out relationship advice.

The 43-year-old actress stars as the love columnist in the hit HBO series, which was recently adapted for the big screen.

Although Carrie may always be on hand to help out best friends Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda, SJP says that she has not imbued any of her dating expertise.

She told The Sun: "I'm reluctant to give it, because I'm no more of an expert than you are. I don't have a doctorate. I was just the beneficiary of a character who is interested in sexual politics.

"I hope I've learned to be a better friend, because she is such a good friend. But I'm terrible at giving advice because everybody's different."
